Raising Your Energetic Vibration is Your Secret Superpower!

WHAT INSPIRED THIS POST

I was just listening to a podcast with Liz Josefsberg, weight loss guru to celebrities. I have to admit, when I first read the title of the episode, it was cringeworthy "Secret Method to MELTING FAT will BLOW YOUR MIND" Yuck. I was listening just to hear what the "latest fad" was going to be and I thought she was going to talk about carbs or keto. WOW, I was so relieved to hear her weight loss strategy! Thankfully, it was so refreshing to hear this interview and that her 'strategy' is exactly the strategy that I believe in! It's NOT what you think!


MELTING FAT SECRET

Her 'secret' was actually NOT about food or calories or gym workouts at all! Quite the contrary! Her secret method is to work with the person on a body, mind, emotional level to unravel their unhealthy habit patterns with diet and lifestyle. She teaches them about faulty thoughts, halting the shame and guilt reward cycles, meditation and gratitude! How surprising and also validating for me because that is exactly what I have concluded and live by! I want to spread this message in the Bodywork that I do with others too. Keep Reading Please!


GUILT and SHAME

First of all, remember that Emotions only come from our THOUGHTS. So when we are having shameful or guilty thoughts, then we have guilt and shameful emotions. When our bodies absorb the energetic vibration of guilt and shameful feelings, then it triggers the reward center in our brains. The reward center doesn't want you to feel this badly, so it sends you to seek a reward to stop the guilt and shame feelings from overcoming your mind, body, and vibration. If you have ever been trying to adhere to a way of eating, or avoiding certain foods, or avoiding alcohol- then maybe this will sound familiar:

You are watching your diet and stopped drinking alcohol too. However, you went somewhere with friends where you ended up getting a huge dessert and then had a glass of wine, even though you knew you weren't "supposed to". You later start thinking about what a loser you are for breaking your own rules, and for giving in and having that wine, and then you beat yourself up and feel guilty and ashamed of yourself. Then, suddenly, you are like "FUCK IT!" I already fucked up my diet, so who cares and you end up bingeeating because you can always start fresh next Monday. Or you already gave into a glass of wine, so you may as well just keep drinking because you already messed up. Well, according to Liz Josefsberg, that was actually your reward center in your brain kicking in to mask your feelings of shame and guilt! You felt good while you were bingeing and drinking because it has a numbing effect where you are not feeling any of those emotions FOR THE TIME BEING. Then, inevitably, the shame/reward cycle will keep repeating itself, hence the yo-yo dieting, and the pattern continues.


THOUGHTS and EMOTIONS:

The secret to a healthy relationship to food and your body is to....drum roll....change your THOUGHTS. If you want to change your emotions and behaviors, then it all starts at the ROOT cause of emotions and behaviors: THOUGHTS. No more rules, routines, diets, calorie counting, food blaming, negative self talk, and/or obsessing over all of those details! No more judging! You know which foods are most likely the "Better Choice" of course if you were to set an apple next to a bag of chips, you would KNOW that the apple is a better choice. Deep down, we all KNOW what we 'should' do. But, you MUST BE IN AN EMOTIONALLY NEUTRAL PLACE to even make those good choices. You must raise your energetic vibration to reach the emotionally neutral place.


HOW TO RAISE YOUR ENERGETIC VIBRATION:

MEDITATION: IF you take even 5 minutes per day to just sit in silence, be mindful and intentional about being quiet and in your body, and deep breathing, then you will feel a SHIFT in your energetic vibration. Don't overthink the word "meditation". I used to think I couldn't meditate because my mind chatter would never stop and I thought my mind had to be empty. I can give you more information about beginning meditation if you want to start! For now, it's just taking time out to sit, breathe, and connect.

GRATITUDE and LOVE: IF you also just add on a few grateful thoughts while you are sitting quietly, then your energetic vibration will be raised. Love your body, love your inner self, send love to your every fiber of being because you are the only one you can control and choose to make love you! Don't rely on other people to "make you feel" loved. Love is an endless source of loving energy that is accessible to anyone all the time, we must pull it into ourselves as if we are reaching our hand into a river and pulling out a handful of water. It's always there, always flowing, and available to us; just access it and send that love into yourself and BE LOVE. When you love yourself on that deep of a level, you will attract others into your space like a magnet and they will FEEL LOVE TOWARD YOU because you are a love magnet. They will feel more loving toward their own selves just by being in your presence. Love comes from the universal energy source that is flowing around us all the time. It's not something to "find" or "create" it is something to access and then you can give and receive it in an effortless flow with others who understand this concept too.

PRESENCE and MINDFULNESS: IF you incorporate time for those 'meditation, gratitude, and love sessions" then you will be filled with a deep sense of presence and mindfulness. You'll notice that your whole day will feel slow, purposeful, intentional, and NON-CHAOTIC. You will feel like everything is happening in slow motion. You will feel like you are completely aware and like an OBSERVER of every moment, everyone, and everything that is going on around you at all times. You will be vibrating on such a high energetic wavelength that you will be able to observe every interaction from a completely connected, yet detached, vantage point and make truly incredible mindful decisions. If you get cut off in traffic, while floating in the afterglow of your meditation, you will just send love and light to that stressed out person. If you get offered a donut at work, you will look at it and literally feel repelled by it because the brain in your gut knows that it is offensive to allow that into your body. If someone is rude or unsavory toward you, it is easy to see that person as a separate human having their own experience who is projecting their insecurities onto you, which all has nothing to do with your essence at all. All negativity will just ricochet right off of your protective shield that you have formed around yourself! Floating at that high vibration only gets easier and better the more you practice accessing the flow of love energy during your daily meditations.

RECALIBRATING if YOU RELAPSE: IF you notice yourself having some negative emotions where you are fearful, thinking of the worst case scenarios, feeling guilty, shameful, envious, jealous, self loathsome, etc, then know that you need to tune up your vibration and CHECK YOUR THOUGHTS. All emotions come from thoughts, and sometimes when we are not grounded and out of alignment (Probably from skipping meditation) then our thoughts can just start swirling unchecked from our low vibration vantage point. When we don't take time for meditation (or just sitting in silence filling ourselves up with grateful affirmations and love) then we aren't FLOATING IN THE AFTERGLOW on a HIGH VIBRATION anymore. Instead it will feel more like struggling to stay afloat in a scummy pond where everything that is happening around us is fast paced, chaotic, and triggering and we feel out of control, overwhelmed, stressed, and like we can't keep up! This is a vulnerable place to be in where we are suddenly Victims to our outer world where all the things are being done TO US instead of being whole connected Observers where we get to carefully make the next right decision in our outer world and enjoy each outcome. It's like the difference of walking your dog like a leader in a controlled calm and collected way compared to having the dog walk you: picture a dog who is pulling, yanking, and trying to run while you are holding that leash for dear life as you're being dragged around. Well, it's easy to get out of these low vibe relapse funks by simply reconnecting to your solo meditation time where you can REGAIN that feeling of Presence. If you make a poor choice, don't let shame and guilt in, just make the better choice next time. Let it go. Raising your vibration is your superpower. You will need to constantly do a vibe tune-up on the daily.


SUMMARY

In summary, if you are able to start a daily meditation practice to live in the present moment, choose your thoughts wisely to manage your emotions, then you raise your energetic vibration which slows the world around you down. Walking through your day in this slow motion way helps you to stay grounded and connected to your higher self and innermost intuitive knowing self, and you will feel LOVE more than FEAR. You will always make the next right choice from a sense of mindful purposeful presence of what is good for you (and will raise your vibe) versus what is bad for you (which will lower your vibe). You will always choose better food, better people, better pastimes, and better habits, when you are connected to yourself. All will fall into place if you just start with LOVING YOUR SELF ENOUGH to CONNECT WITH YOUR SELF each day.
